We are very excited that we have been given an option to build a Church Centre next door to the Doctor's Surgery in Bure Park, Bicester. This means we will have a place to hold many more activities such as Mums and Tots, Parenting Courses, Youth Work... a meeting place for the community of Bure Park.

The building has been designed and has been given Planning Permission.  The PCC has decided to proceed to tender for the shell of the building to start as soon as fresh prices can be received and provided they are within the budget.  The church is anticipating further large sums of money for completion once the water-tight shell is ready.

Work has continued on the new Parish Church (Bure Park and Southwold are now officially part of the parish of ECB).  The work on the building is now highly visible.  The concrete floors are being installed prior to the completion of the frame.

Work on the shell of the building is scheduled to be completed by May 2012, subject to the vagaries of the weather during the winter months.  Once the shell has been completed, work will begin on the fitting out the interior of the building.  It is anticipated that a useable building will be available late 2012/early 2013

During November we received a series of good news items on the financial front.  Viridor confirmed that our application for a £50,000 grant towards our fitting out costs had been successful.  The Diocese informed us that we will be receiving £15-20,000 more than we were expecting from them towards our project costs.  Cherwell District Council have donated £10,000 towards our project.    This means that to date ECB have raised or received commitments for just over £1.1 million of which £820.000 has been received.   Final build costs will be in the region of £1.4 million. £250-£300,000 remains to be raised to complete all phases of the project.

Please remember the project in your prayers and plans.  Pray not only about the finances but also about the decisions we have to make during the build process and the plans that we will be making about how we use the building when it is complete.
