Who We Are?
ECB started in December 2002 and was originally a church planted from St. Aldate's and St. Ebbe's in Oxford. We are part of the Church of England and the Parish Church of St. Edburg's in Bicester graciously welcomed us within its Parish.

ECB is what is known as a 'Fresh Expressions' Church. Basically that means we are allowed to be different from traditional church. At the moment we worship in Bure Park School and since we started we have grown from an initial congregation of 25 people to around 100 including 45 children.

We are a charismatic, evangelical, Anglican church. Together we are learning to focus on God in our daily lives, aiming to be a focal point in our community and supporting those serving the poor both locally and in other countries.
Values top of page
The values we hold are constantly under review. Currently they are:

  • Prayer is where it all starts Acts 1:14
  • Holy Spirit We seek His constant filling Acts 2:4
  • Mission We seek to have God's heart for the lost and are unafraid to try new ways Acts 2:47
  • Bible Believing Obedience We seek to listen to God and obey Him Acts 2:42
  • Community We seek to live out being God's family by being community Acts 2:44-46

Bicester Food Bank
It was the vision of a member of our congregation, Janet Ray, who got the Food Bank off the ground in Bicester. The aim of the Food Bank is to give food to families and individuals who suddenly fall on hard times.

They are given food to tide them over until their benefits arrive and are able to have a friendly chat and a cup of tea with the volunteers and if necessary directed to an appropriate agency for help and advice. They take away with them a verse from the Bible to help them know that God loves them.

Sri Lanka
ECB supports a church of around 30 people, in Negombo, Sri Lanka and its leader, Sriyamal Fernando. The church is on the west coast of Sri Lanka just north of Colombo. Sriyamal is now its full time leader. He has a wife and two sons.

The Marriage Course
Is currently being run and subsequent courses will be arranged for all married couples who would like to enrich their marriage
